SMART MEDIA ACCELERATOR is an initiative of the DW Akademie to support quality journalism in Tunisia.
Through two programs, MEDIA LOVES TECH and MEDIA PARCOURS, media projects and established media outlets can benefit from adapted, intelligent and practical support.
What is it about ?
SMART MEDIA ACCELERATOR brings together two programs of excellence: the incubation program for media projects, MEDIA LOVES TECH, and the acceleration program for established media, MEDIA PARCOURS.
The two programs come with a rich environment of support catering to selected media. We are working together with you to understand your needs, provide expertise whenever it is needed, help create bridges and identify synergies, share opportunities, and develop new ideas.
MEDIA LOVES TECH
The SMART MEDIA ACCELERATOR incubation program targets media project leaders or tech projects for journalism. It offers beneficiaries the opportunity to assess the feasibility of their ideas and prepare them to get market-ready.
All MEDIA LOVES TECH candidates first go through a 3-month pre-incubation phase (May-July) entirely accessible online, for an initial assessment of the viability of their “solution”. The most promising ideas are then selected for a second iteration in the fall (September-November) when experts intervene.
The SMART MEDIA ACCELERATOR acceleration program, lasting 6 to 9 months, is aimed at established Tunisian media who wish to optimize their operations, whether they are independent, associative or private.
MEDIA PARCOURS aims to strengthen the selected organisation by transmitting good practices and responding to the needs expressed by each media. A “path” of activities is jointly designed, including expertise, capacity building, organizational support, opportunities, etc.

As a component of the European project “Tunisia 360° On en Parle!”, the SMART MEDIA ACCELERATOR allows each organisation involved in MEDIA LOVES TECH or MEDIA PARCOURS to be eligible at the end of the program for financial support for the production of content.

SMART MEDIA ACCELERATOR 2024, there are 2 ways to obtain support, but only 1 participation form!
